Growing A Healthy Worship Ministry without Starting a War
By Mike Harland
The author states in his introduction of the book that; “Worship Essentials is an exploration of four necessary values for any church that hopes to have a healthy worship ministry.” These four values are;
1. Tell the Story,
2. Make True Disciples,
3. Engage the Body
4. Aspire with Purpose.
The author tell how these four values can be used to help improve worship. The main thing that he talks able is the music used in the service and how some churches are moving from the hymnals to modern day Christian music. How using different musical instruments in the service can cause many problems in the congregation. He covers the problem that may come up and how sometimes it can be a war that should not be fought. He shares stories from his ministry and from others in hope that those experiences will help others overcome these problems.
He states in the book, “It’s is time to stop the conflicts around worship that disrupt and distracts the churches. It’s time to call off the fighting over music styles and ministry approaches in music.”
