14,000 QUIPS AND QUOTES
A Collection of Motivational Thoughts and Humorous One-liners Categorized for Ease of Use
Compiled by E. C. McKenzie
This book is designed for ministers, speakers, teachers or for any other person who would do public speaking or anyone who would like to add a humorous or motivating thought to an email, letter or church bulletin. All speakers can use help with adding one liners to their speeches. E. C. McKenzie was a minister who collected and compiled these quips and quotes, originally published by Baker Book House Publishing and republished with Baker’s permission by Hendrickson Publisher, for all speakers to use. There are thousands of quotes that are categorized in over 500 hundred different subjects and topics. An index lists the topics alphabetically making them very easy to find. You will find a quip or quote on most any subject. Some topic may have other topics listed under it making it easy to locate what you want. (example: aims- see goals, ideas).
There are subjects for most any age and the sayings could add to your speech. You will fine quotes on food, religion, automobiles, marriage and many others. The quips and quotes do not have any origin or persons name connected to them, they are just simple fact type sayings that will add to any speech or talk. I have checked through many of the topics that might have problem quotes that some may find offensive. I did not find any that were offensive to me but that would be entirely up to the one using them in their speech to make that final decision.
Here is an example from the topics of the Bible and Prayer:
“The Bible is most helpful when it is open.” --- A small boy said to his best friend, “It may be unconstitutional, but I always pray before an exam.”
As you can see the quotes carry truths with them. Use them to add some extra clarity to what you are speaking about. Just setting and reading the one liners can be a way of spending time with the family and seeing the humorous side of things.
