The Christmas Code Booklet

THE CHRISTMAS CODE

Daily Devotions Celebrating the Advent Season

By O. S. Hawkins

This is a small book filled with important information about the Advent Season. The book contains devotions drawn from The Believers Code, which is a 365-day devotional to unlock the blessing of God. If you never celebrated the Advent Season, this would be a good book to start with and if you celebrate Advent, add this to your celebration. This will help to bring peace and joy to your celebration. The Advent Season starts 25 days before Christmas, a time to celebrate and prepare for the coming of the Christ.

Each devotion page starts with a Bible verse and adds a short devotion and a code word for each day. It makes a great study and will help give a understanding to the season and why we celebrate Christmas. This book is the right size and is priced right [the review copy I received showed a USD price of $2.99] for you to give it as a gift or as a addition gift to those on your gift list. It is a great way to share the Gospel and the Christmas story with friends and family.

A special section on How to use the KJV Study Bible describes the symbols used to designate the type of footnote.

The center column gives references and equivalent translation, literal translation, explanatory notes, language notes and alternate translations.

To help in studying there are subject headings, Jesus’s words in red letter type and italic type to indicate words that contained in the original text but are needed for English clarity.

Notes on how to study the Bible are included, as is a list of God’s answers to our concerns that include Bible verse references.

The time-honored King James Version that most everyone is familiar with.

The copy I received to review was covered in brown bonded leather, large print and will lay flat. A great addition to anyone’s library. Even if your favorite translation is not the KJV I think you will enjoy using this study Bible with the beautiful photos, illustrations, collection of study notes and helps that makes this a copy of the Bible you will like.

The Assault

THE ASSAULT

Harbingers Cycle Two

By Bill Myers, Frank Peretti, Angela Hunt, Alton Gansky

This is the second book of a series written by four different authors. The story is about four people, working as a team to fight evil that is trying to take over the world. The four are from different walks of life, a tattoo artist, a professor, professor’s assistant and ex-football player but they all work very well together. Each section is narrated by a different person of the team and written by a different author, but is done in a way that they all blend together to make one story. This book start in the Vatican, goes to Florida and end in California. The evil they come against is very unbelievable and can be considered sci-fi, houses that turn to liquid, animal and people taken over by a fungus and different evil people under the control of something or someone, trying to take over.

If you enjoy horror or sci-fi you may enjoy this book. I like sci-fi but some of the things in this book are just a little weird. Very little about God is shared in the book, there is only one of the four that is a true believer and shares his beliefs. No profanity or sexual overtones are in the book. Good reading for this type of book, built up suspense and the story holds your interest.
