EATS WITH SINNERS
Loving Like Jesus
By Arron Chambers
(In this review, I use
“the lost” to signify sinners that are lost, since we are all sinners.)
The author goes into detail about reaching out to the lost
with the Gospel and offers methods of reaching out. Using the examples from
scripture on how Jesus reached the lost and how we were instructed to do the
same. He covers character traits of integrity, accessibility, grace, faith,
intimacy, tolerance, resolve, urgency, mercy, humility, investment, joy and
vision. The methods described in this book have been proven at the authors
church and other churches with good results. Some questions asked are why spending
time with the lost is important, do you avoid the lost, is there a degree of
sin and others. He shares many stories and examples of how the lost have been reached
by others. Each chapter closes with some questions to think about and can be by
discussion groups.
The book is well written and easy to understand and can be a
blessing to everyone. We are asked by Jesus to reach out to the lost and we are
to share the Gospel with all. We can do this by being a friend to that person
and by the way we live.
A quote from the introduction:
“Being lost is never
fun. Being lost and realizing that no one is looking for you is even worse.”
Remember we were all lost at one time, we are still sinners,
but by the grace of God we are forgiven and saved.
