WHY MEN HATE GOING TO CHURCH

WHY MEN HATE GOING TO CHURCH by David Murrow ….Why do men hate going to church?, this book offers some ideas why. Are churches setup for the female and not the male, the author believes that is part of the problem. Another problem is that the church teach the soft side of Jesus ( the lamb of God side not the lion of Judah side.) The church needs to teach both sides of Jesus.
The author offer some solutions for the church to take, I do not totally agree with the chapter about the mega church being part of the answer. I believe a smaller church has more to offer and is more friendly, this is from my own experience.
The book offers a good information and has a lot of good points and even at time is humorist.

Healing is a Choice

HEALING IS A CHOICE ..by Stephen Arterburn --- I admit that when I got this book I expected something different than what I got. Stephen give you example of different problems that people need healing in and give you a workbook for each chapter on how to help you over come that problem. The book has a lot of information and handles different healing problems. I did not care for all the extra details on some of the example and the details of his problem when he got divorced. In all fairness to the author and the book it does have a lot of helpful information. We all need healing from things in our past and some opinions changed that does affect our life with Jesus Christ, we need God most of all for help with all healing. It is hard to change some idea that we have grew up with. I believe the book will be helpful in coping with your problems.

Our Last Great Hope

OUR LAST GREAT HOPE, Awakening the Great Commission by Ronnie Floyd – The message of this book is a command given to us by Jesus, to go into world and spread the Gospel to all the world. I like the points Floyd brings out in the chapter titled, Awaken The Church, that the church today is more interested in entertaining us instead of keeping God's command of spreading the Gospel. We as Christians need to be sharing the Gospel with all the people, hear in America and in other countries around the world.
The main point of this book is to get Christians to evangelize and support mission at home and overseas, to spread the Gospel to all who have not heard the Good News. Also, to awaken the church that they are to be spreading the truth of the Gospel.
We need to be praying for our mission workers and that the unsaved will be opened to the truth of Jesus Christ.

WITH

WITH – Reimagining the way you relate to God by Skye Jethani.
This book is an eye opener as to our relationship to God. Do we use God for our own purpose? Are we afraid of God because of His power and glory? Do we try to control God? Or do we just plain ignore Him? Hopefully after you read this book you will know where you stand with God. God is our friend and father, He want us to have all he has, all we have to do is to believe in Him and trust Him.
This book will open your eye to things that we have been taught from the time we started Sunday School to now. God is our friend, our best friend and He wants us to live WITH Him. I recommend you read this book with a open mind and let the author show you where we can go wrong, he give a number of illustrations of the four things we do wrong. Good reading.

Rumors of God

RUMORS OF GOD Experience The Kind of Faith You've Only Heard About. - by Darren Whitehead & Jon Tyson ----You will find a lot of help in your walk with Christ in this book. The authors give example of problems people face and also how God will work in your life to handle these problems. We need to slow down in our life and listen to God as he helps us to handle our everyday problems that we create in our hurried life style. If we look and listen we will find God all around us and that he is willing to help us, all we have to do is ask.
The one thing I think the authors should have done is when they quoted scripture that they should have given the Bible address to those quote.
I recommend this book to those who are looking for answers in our hurried up life.

God's Love Letters to You

GOD'S LOVE LETTERS TO YOU by Larry Crabb-- A 40-day devotional experience that will speak directly to your heart. Each devotional is a like a personal letter from God that you have been waiting for. The first devotional or letter spoke a great lesson on us messing up in life and that God knows that we will mess up and that he is there all the time with us. Dr. Crabb offers questions to reflex on each devotional and also a Bible verse and a small prayer.
If you read just one devotional a day you will be through the book in 40 days. I recommend that after you read it once you continue to read it over and over. Don't forget to read God's Word (the Bible) each day with the devotional.
I recommend this book to all want a closer walk with the Lord. It is not a big book in size but it is big in spiritual help. A very good book to give as a gift.

Be The People

BE THE PEOPLE by Carol M. Swain, Ph D --- This book describes the problem that our government and we are facing and how we got to this point. We as a people need to change the way these things are going. The best way is to return to God and through prayer. At one time, God blessed our country and we have lost these blessing because we have chose to follow the path of sin.  We are at a point as the Israelites were under the there kings, they choose not to follow the Lord God.  The Old Testament tells us what happen to them and Revelations tells us what is going to happen to us if we do not follow God.
I recommend this book to all Christians and non Christians and if you care what is going wrong in our country to pray, pray and pray some more for our country.

Awesome book

The Boy Who Came Back from Heaven By: Kevin Malarkey, Alex Malarkey
I found this book to be very inspiring and would recommend it to everyone, especially to the person that doesn’t believe in Heaven or hell. The book shows the struggles that people can go through when a tragedy happens in their life. Also, it shows the power of prayer and what belief in God can do when you face these tragedies of life.
The belief of this young boy is amazing. How God heals and takes care of him is a miracle.
This book shows just how much God is in control of our lives and believing in him is what we need to do.

The Seraph Seal

THE SERAPH SEAL, by Leonard Sweet & Lori Wagner. This is a story about the end time prophecy in the year 2048, It starts with Paul Binder getting a letter about the future and continues to other people that will play a part in the prophecy. Each chapter jumps around the world to follow each person involved. I found this jumping around to be a little distracting because sometimes it was only a short paragraph or two about that situation.
If you enjoy global intrigue and stories like the Indiana Jones books or movies, then you will most likely enjoy this book, check it out for your self. As I stated in an earlier review I not a great fan of fictional books, this one did not hold my interest as other fiction stories have.
This book is a fictional story taken from the truths of the Bible found in the book of Revelation. I would recommend you read the true story in Revolution either before or after you read this book.

The Final Summit

The Final Summit, by Andy Andrews. When I first got this book, I did not think that I would like it because I usually read books on information or on Christian living not many fictional books; however I changed my mind shortly after starting the book. David Ponder is an elderly man and a lonely man, after losing his wife he thinks about the time he was a traveler. (This was an earlier book by Andy Andrews) and is visited by the archangel Gabriel and taken to head a conference on saving mankind. The book offers a lot of information and historical characters as they decide what will be needed to save man.
I enjoyed the story and would like to see a movie based on this book. I also learn historical facts and enjoyed the conversations that took place between the historical people and David in the book.
I sure you will enjoy this book, if just for the historical people and facts, as well as God being in control of all things.
